Steven “Rowdy” Ford has been a permanent fixture at Boroondara Cricket Club for more than 35 year and this round Rowdy plays his 450th game for the Club.

Initially down to just watch the cricket, Rowdy joined the club in the 1982/83 season after falling in love with what was known back then as the Riversdale–Boroondara Cricket Club. In all the years since he has only missed two seasons and that was due to injury.

544 wickets, 3 Premierships and 35 years later he is the first player in the clubs history to have played 450 games. He has been on the Club’s committee for over 30 years and served as treasurer for many of those years. He is a friend to all, always willing to serve you a drink and armed with the latest scores. In many ways he is the Club’s heart and soul.

So when you are next down at Vicy Rd seek him out and congratulate him. You know where he will be, he will be the man behind “Rowdy’s Bar”.

Congratulations Rowdy on a marvelous achievement!
