Welcome to season 2020/21

As the newly appointed junior co-ordinator, I am very pleased to let you know that registrations for this season are open and we are looking forward to finding a way back onto the sporting field for our kids, once the current COVID19 lockdown arrangements are lifted.

The junior committee has been working hard over the past 2 months to get ready for the season and is preparing for a range of start dates in changed circumstance.   The ECA has a range of season start date scenarios – and the most likely looks to be the weekend of 6th November 2020.  We will keep you posted on developments as are they are communicated to the club and we’ll outline season start plans as soon as we can.

COVID19 Safety Sub-committee

In order to ensure we are doing everything to create a safe playing environment, we have formed a COVID19 sub-committee chaired by our own club stalwart, Geoff Steele, who will advise us on the best way to protect our players.  There will be more information on this once we have a more definitive start date for the season.

Registrations and Fees

As a committee, we have endeavoured to find flexibility in our registration fees, given everyone’s experiences in other sports.   In circumstances where the cricket season is cancelled as a result of further COVID19 restrictions, then we will offer a full refund of fees (subject to any payments made to ECA).  If the season is abandoned after it commences then the club has committed to ensuring to return the maximum refund possible.

Further, for those in our community experiencing financial difficulty we are open to alternative arrangements to keep all our kids playing cricket.   If you are experiencing financial difficultly and require alternative arrangements, please contact myself ([email protected]), Assistant Junior Coordinator – Chris Hoyling ([email protected]) or Club President, Michael Bingley ([email protected]).

As for registrations, the committee has attempted to make registration fees cheaper and we’re asking players to re-use their playing shirts from last year, where possible.  We will set up an online store to purchase new playing gear once we know the more about the start dates for the season.

In the short term until we understand the exact start date for the season, we are only asking for holding fee of $55 per player – this is refundable if the season does not commence.

Registration fees for all players this year will be as follows:

  • First player:                        $240
  • Second player:                   $200
  • Third player:                       $100

Registrations are open on MyCricket https://www.playcricket.com.au/club-finder/club-details?Id=1241

The club needs to committ team numbers to the ECA by the 30 September so we’re asking you to register as early as possible.

We look forward to a great season which we hope runs COVID stoppage free.  If you have any questions please contact myself, Chris or one of the Age Group Coordinators
